“I first acquired an interest in financial services when I was at school and I decided to do a Financial Services Degree in Sheffield. After 4 years studying I started working for Aviva in pensions administration, and continued into financial advisor support.
The next step to become an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) was to work in a financial report writing role. I did this within a Barnsley based financial advice firm. It is here where I learnt about what entailed good advice, eventually moving into an advice role, and setting up as self-employed IFA in 2009.
In addition to my degree I have my Diploma in Financial Planning, and part way towards achieving my Advanced Diploma as well.
I live with my fiancée Steph, and we have a wonderful son, Henry who was born in October 2013, so he keeps us entertained. I personally like to stay relatively fit and healthy.”
I have enjoyed a successful career within financial services, providing financial advice to clients for over 12 years. I find each day as rewarding and challenging as the next. My journey through the financial planning industry started with the CIS back in 2002 as a “tied” advisor. I then got the opportunity to join a national independent financial advisory group to offer my clients fully bespoke independent financial advice.
I now provide financial advice to those who need it the most, the retiree market, ensuring my clients get the very best guidance. I got married to my wife Naomi in 2008 and am the proud father of two energetic youngsters, Nancy 5 and William 3. As you can imagine my work really begins when I get home from the office!
I have held my private pilot’s license for over 5 years now, and like to fly when I have the time. I also like to stay as fit as possible and compete as a triathlete. Further to this I will be competing in Iron-man UK 2015.
